Panama Canal Authority
Panama Canal Authority (ACP) is in charge of the operation, administration, management, and maintenance of the Panama Canal, as well as its activities and related services so that the Canal may operate in a safe, continuous, and efficient manner. Panama Canal Authority electronically registers all the vessels going across the Canal. All the necessary registrations formalities of the vessels are done by the vessel captains and the boarding officers working for the Panama Canal Authority.
Panama Canal Authority is using PKI (Public Key Infrastructure) technology to secure electronic transactions with the vessels plying across the Panama Canal. PKI technology secures these transactions by offering strong authentication, data confidentiality, data integrity and non-repudiation. This reduces turnaround time for each transaction and lowers the amount of paper work and hence, transaction cost.
RadianTrust provides consultancy services on the setting up of the Public Key Infrastructure for ACP as well as implementation of Certificate Authority services.
